More weather…

18 Nov

We were up early to head for Oriental but Gerry’s friends in Oriental called to say it was dirty already there and not a good spot to come to. Weather called NE winds 20-25 with gusts to 35 and had a small craft advisory. Our planned route had a lot of exposure to the NE winds so we stayed put – project day! Still searching for warmth – love that Wabasto furnace on the boat!!

Bellhaven  feels like a farm town – flat with wide empty street laid out in a grid. Indeed, it’s proximity to farmland and ICW shipping is a key part of its past. There is not much going on now and it is not a wealthy place. People are friendly, many businesses are closed and houses are being raised on footings to get above the “wind tides”.

I can’t believe I’m parked on the couch reading your blog ( while it’s -4 deg outside ) with a boat that’s high and dry and becoming jealous , envious etc. etc.
Keep that bow pointed @ 180 deg…….and makes us all jealous!
