We haven’t fallen off the face of the earth… I guess we’ve been in holiday mode in a way. We have been in Florida, based out of Fort Pierce. Sandy has been the most wonderful host and help and we have really enjoyed getting to know his daughters.
We have worked on the boat, run errands, played tourist a bit, visited friends and relaxed. We feel re-stoked. Altogether we have seen 3 Christmas Boat Parades – in North Myrtle Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Punta Gorda – each one different. We have been able to visit a few of our snowbird friends who are here over Christmas. Today we joined Sandy, Janet and Kimberly for Christmas dinner on a pontoon boat that we anchored out amongst the mangroves with dolphins playing about. Tomorrow Jane arrives to join us and on the 27th we head south to Stuart and Fort Lauderdale, our planned jumping off spot for the Bahamas. Once a southerly sets in for a few days, we’re off.
This has been a unique Christmas for us and so different. We do miss the northern Christmas, the pre Christmas socials, time with friends and family – and yes, even the weather!!
Wishing all our family and friends a wonderful Christmas.
